Windspire: DIY Wind Turbine Technology

Mariah Power, a clean energy startup is about to ship its DIY 1kw wind-turbine, Windspire. The 30′x2′ tower features a propeller-less design, wireless modem to monitor power production, and is quiet at only 25db 5-feet from the house, and is priced at $3,995. The unit is capable of producing approximately 1900 kWh of energy at 12 mph winds.
